Auto Touch Up Paint : What is it?
| Great for covering or repairing minor scratches, blemishes, and chipping in car paint, auto touch up paint tries to match the original paint color to provide a seamless finish. It is applied only on the scratch or chip itself, or a small area where the minor damage is. Good auto touch up paint provides a “quick fix” that cannot be used as substitute for a factory-applied product. It does not have the same durability, adhesion, fading, and chalking characteristics of a factory-applied coating. It should not be applied on mill material. |

Kinds of Auto Touch Up Paints include the following: |
Blob eliminator auto touch up paint
- A blob eliminator is applied with an applicator brush, spray, or pen that comes in the kit.
- It is allowed to dry for two to 24 hours.
- Blobs may appear on the dried up surface, thus, a “blob eliminator” is applied to remove them.
- The blobs are removed within 15 to 30 seconds, giving the touch up paint a smooth finish without affecting the original paint.
Air-dry auto touch up paint
- The air-dry auto touch up paint uses two steps to cover up scratches.
- The first step involves applying the actual touch up paint on the damaged surface.
- The second step involves applying an air-dry additive that prevents the paint from blobbing.

Color: Look for auto touch-up paint made for the exact brand, model, and color of your car. The paint of popular car models, especially luxury cars, can be matched by after-market vendors to the minutest color detail.
