A coupe (coupé) is a two-door car body style with an enclosed body and a small or no rear seat. The term is generally applied to a fixed-roof model with a close-coupled interior. It generally has two doors, but some automobile manufacturers have made three-, four-, and five-door hatchback coupes. A modern coupe has frameless doors with the window glass sealing directly set against the weatherstrips on the main body.  It is differentiated from the sedan by its interior volume. The SAE standard J1100 defines a coupé as a fixed-roof automobile with less than 33 ft³ or 0.93 m³ of rear interior volume. A car that exceeds these standards is technically considered a two-door sedan. However, this is not strictly adhered to by car manufacturers.
