The Monkey is a Hit - J. Meadows, Jul 31, 2009

I bought the monkey for my daughter back in the spring. I paid almost $20 (later I found it for $10 at Burlington Coat Factory of all places). However, it was worth what I paid for it. She really likes wearing the monkey, and sometimes just wants to hold him like a doll. She gets a kick out of the 'tail' part of it. It works pretty good when we are out and walking around. I usually use it when it's a crowd and/or there dangerous things nearby like busy roads and such. She doesn't mind it too much, but sometimes she will fall down and pitch a fit and yank you a bit. 2 year olds are bound to do such things. :) It seems durable, and it works well. I recommend it.

Works As Advertised - Jorge J. Coelho, Apr 05, 2009

Before a recent trip to Disney World we decided to look into a child harness for our 2 year old. We knew that we might draw some stares, but we knew that there were going to be crowds and our 2 year old likes to take off, so this was not a tough decision.

We considered a number of different harnesses, but decided on this one because of other reviews and because we thought it looked great.

Our daughter was hesitant to wear the "monkey" at first, but we started planting the seed ahead of time by having her wear it around the house. We also played games with her where we would chase her and then gently tug at the harness to get her used to the idea.

Once we got to Disney World we did end up using the harness and it came in handy. There were times we would allow her to roam free without the harness when the crowds were not as abundant. However, when the crowds started to come we would use the harness. Our overall impression was that the harness did exactly what we expected. It kept our daughter from getting too far ahead. We got a lot of compliments on the harness and we had a number of people ask us where we purchased the harness. Also, there were many other parents using harnesses and this harness seemed to be the most popular.

Overall, I would have given the harness 5 stars except for one simple fact, you don't have too much control over steering your child unless you decided to yank them around. I'm not exactly sure what could be done to overcome that issue, but that was the only real issue I saw while using the harness. With that said I would definitely recommend this to any parent who is worried about their little one running off.

Love the Buddy Harness - S. Jean, Sep 20, 2008

We purchased this before a family trip to CO. I was a bit hesitant because my son is apprehensive to new things, and wearing this was by far new to him. However, this turned out to be the best thing ever. Our son understood why we wanted him to wear it and what purpose it had. He loved having his Monkey Buddy with him and it gave us the freedom of knowing he could explore while being totally safe. When we arrived at the airport on our return trip home, a police officer actually approached me to commend me on what a fantastic job I was doing to keep my son safe!

Great for an independant child - M. Carpenter, Jun 23, 2008

I bought this when my 3 year old decided he wanted to walk everywhere and wander away from me in a store. With this he has some independence but I have peace of mind.

Great for pre-schoolers too... - Michelle, Apr 13, 2008

This is a great product. My son is 3 years old (40 pounds and 40 inches tall) and it is adjustable and fits him great! He is in love with the monkey backpack, and actually encourages me to hang on to the "tail" of the monkey and he leads me around. I would highly recommend this product.
