They said it was safe to eat the crib's paint!!! - Livia, Aug 04, 2005

Before my baby turned 8 months the paint started to pell of... She gasped several times with it. She had to sleep for 2 months in my bed. They only sent a new crib (not white) to me after I said I would have to talk to my lawyer.
They said it was ok that my baby was eating the paint. paint!!!!
This company is a nightmare if you someday have a problem with the product. Just don't take the risk...We paid higher for that.

Purchased this item due to the great reviews. The crib was shipped via UPS and the box was damaged when I received it. Called Child Craft and they promptly sent me replacements parts for the damaged areas and apologized, no questions asked. Customer service at Child Craft was great. So far, we are happy with the crib, seem's very sturdy. Broken parts were clearly UPS's fault, not Child Craft. I like that we can easily turn this into a daybed without purchasing additional kits. Most other cribs like Simmon's requires kit's to convert them.

I bought this crib a little over a year ago, after reading about it in the Baby Bargains book ( A consumer reports type book all about baby gear--great book!) Anyway, I had been given an older crib which my husband had already assembled. However, when I looked it up in the BB book, it had received a poor rating and knew I wouldn't get peace of mind, letting my baby sleep in it. I convinced my husband to spend the money on this crib, even though we already had a crib. This one from Target was well rated for safety and design. I love this crib! I have had no problems with it in the year that I have been using it. My 1 year old son is a very active boy, bouncing in it all the time. I have no worries about the safety, since it is very sturdy. We are now pregnant with our second child, and have no doubt that this will hold up to another active baby!
