Set this bed up a week ago. Me and the kids love it. Some of the wood (ladder rungs, for example) seemed a little light in weight but once it was all put together I was very pleasantly surprised with how sturdy the whole thing is.
If I could, I would have given 4.5 vs 4 stars, the only downside being that the ladder and sides are a bit more permanent that I would have preferred (they are screwed in). I have another bed where the sides and ladder "click" on and off which makes converting from bunk to separate twins a little easier. But this is really a small thing.
Overall, very pleased with the purchase.
