Product Description

The Pinecrest Travel Lite Crib is perfect for trips with your baby, whether on vacation or just over to Grandma's. At under 20 pounds, this full-sized, compact-folding crib has an easy push-button fold and is light enough (and folds up small enough) to carry with one hand.

Although it's highly portable, this crib still looks great anywhere, with decorative ruffles and a canopy gusset that will have everyone in the room immediately cooing over your baby. The full-size bassinet, for use by babies less than 15 pounds, includes a quilted bumper pad. When your little one grows too big for the bassinet, the crib's comfy quilted mattress provides a cozy place for her to rest. There's even two soft bears overhead, so your child will have some company as she drifts off into dreamland.

more practical alternative to a bassinet - L Sugden, Mar 29, 2008

My wife and I elected to go with this undersized pack and play instead of a bassinet. Our daughter spent the first four weeks sleeping in this product before we moved her to her bedroom. We are pleased with the performance of the product- it is sturdy enough for our 6-week old to take naps in still- and are happy to have something lightweight that we can travel with.

Grown out of at 3 months!!! - Gillian L. Mowry, Dec 31, 2007

I was going to give this product 2 stars but in writing this review I decided it didn't deserve that many!

Let me start off by saying that I really wanted to like this crib. We have a really small apartment and we thought this would be perfect because of the small size...light weight (I have a bad back and this is really easy to move around the apartment when needed)...and I read many good reviews (the price was excellent too!). However, it is wayyyyyyy too small. I thought that since so many people used this for so long that it would be possible but do not buy this expecting to use it long...it might work well as a portable playpen but don't expect to be able to have your baby lie down in it. Our son was born 4 weeks early and is now turning 3 months in about a week...he is about 12lbs and 24" tall and he's almost grown out of the CRIB portion and we have to look for something else for him to sleep in now. The specs say that the bassinet is for babies less than 15 lbs. Our son grew out of it at 9lbs because it buckled under his weight and whenever he moved in his sleep the bassinet part shook making him feel insecure, waking him up and causing him to scream. This wasn't nearly as disappointing as him nearly growing out of the crib portion because at least we could just take the bassinet part out and put him in the crib. However, the specs also say that the crib portion is for babies less than 35" tall and 30 lbs. I seriously don't know how anyone could put a baby that big in this. Like I said, our son is 24" tall and he only has about 5" (if that) before he can hit head to toe! He also likes to sleep with his arms stretched out to the side but when he tries to do this...he hits the sides which sometimes causes him to awaken and scream.

Another thing that I don't like about this is the mesh material...it is very rough and scratchy. My son moves around quite a bit in his sleep. One night he ended up with his head near the side of the bassinet...it rubbed up against the mess (that is exposed to baby in bassinet form!) and he woke up with a big red mark on his head. It went away in a little while but I was very upset that it happened. I ended up fitting bumpers to the bassinet so that if it happened again he wouldn't hit the mesh. Baby's skin is very soft and it doesn't take much to irritate it...I would hope that softer mesh could be used or that they would make sure that none was exposed to the baby!

I definitely don't recommend this crib at all. Somehow...find a way to fit something bigger and spend a little extra money...that's what we have to do and this was really a waste of money. Sure...we used it for 3 months but we could have bought something better to begin with that we could have used much longer and wouldn't have to replace.

Perfect travel crib - J. Hoover, Dec 21, 2007

Lovely little crib, and it couldn't have been easier to set up. It's very sturdy, yet so simple to fold up for
travel or storage. It's a beautiful shade of sage green, just a bit darker than the photo. Great to have the
extra storage area below the bed, as well. Would highly recommend!

basinet - S. Lucas, Dec 01, 2007

I purchased this item for my new granddaughter who will be arriving soon. It set up very easily and is extremely cute. The carrying case is similar to a camp chair, just a little heavier. We havent actually used it yet but, we have inspected it pretty closely, it seems very sturdy and easy to use. I will be really excited to finally be able to use it.
