Excellent storage bottles (and BPA free), but wish you could purchase these without the nipples and nipple caps which we did not want or need.
Rating : Just any old cheap bottle - C. Gonzalez, Aug 29, 2008
They are just like any other cheap plastic bottle. There are other BPA-free bottles I think work better. Dr. Brown's fit onto the Medela pumps just fine and they have a vent for your baby so the nipple doesn't collapse when he/she is trying to feed. Nothing special about these. My baby doesn't like them.
Rating : These Bottles are ALWAYS Leaking! - Dylan A. Davis, Aug 24, 2008
I must say that I am very disappointed with these bottles. When our baby was born, I wanted to buy the Phillips Avent bottles. My wife pushed for, and we ultimately bought, a ton of these Medela bottles because they are "BPA-free".
I preferred the Avent bottles to these because I am not crazy about the size or design of the Medelas. If those were the only problems, I would accept it because the Medelas are BPA-free.
But the major problem here is leaking. Nearly every bottle and lid/nipple set we have screw on poorly and unevenly. As a result they leak, and my baby and I are COVERED in breastmilk or formula after EVERY feeding.
We spent a lot of money on these, and we are very disappointed. So disappointed that we are going to Babies 'r Us today to buy a brand new set of Philips' new line of Avent BPA-free bottles.
Rating : Safe and tested choice - Eddie, Jul 25, 2008
Medela, well... they are the name to trust when it comes to products like these. So, assume everything is perfect and here's what little we have to complain about that has happened, so you are prepared:
- sometimes the nipples will tilt and create a little opening where the milk will escape while feeding; prevent this by not applying to much angular pressure
- sometimes the seal (possibly on purpose to allow air) of the bottle caps isn't perfect, and a bit of milk can drip out
Rating : Fast and easy! - Hot Model Mommy, Jul 13, 2008
I like that I can pump immediately into these bottles and simply add a nipple when ready for feeding. I prefer to use these bottles for freezing as opposed to using plastic storage bags for breast-milk. I believe that these bottles will retain the milk's beneficial properties more effectively than the plastic storage bags.
