- One hand release operation is easy for an adult hand
- Easily attaches to all types of bowls and lids
- Simple to remove when not needed
The Lid-Lok keeps plumbing safe with no more toys to scoop out while also keeping curious children from getting into the wrong place. Quick and easy installation requires no tools, no adhesive tape, no glue and no need to remove the toliet seat to install or remove. The one hand release makes the Lid Lok easy for adults to open but difficult for a child. 1 per pack Average Rating of 4.00 out of 13 reviews
Rating : LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this product - Dolla, May 15, 2008
This is soooo easy to install (for my husband) and easy to use. Totally keeps my son away from the toilet, now that he knows he's unable to open it! HIGHLY Recommended and very inexpensive.
Rating : It'll work for a while anyway. - R. McCrea, Apr 13, 2008
I'm buying two more of these after trying one out. It's true that its a little flimsy and a strong effort might break it, but it works so far. It's important to install it on the front and to follow the directions. Anyway, I haven't seen anything better yet.
Rating : Easy for toddler to figure out - L. Upton, Apr 06, 2008
This product was my last hope as the other products did not fit my toilets... but my one-year-old twins figured it out in ten seconds.
Rating : It works great . . . sorta - Paekche, Apr 02, 2008
This is the first time I've written a review and I'm only doing it because I was intrigued by one especially negative review in light of all the positive reviews. I bought the product anyway and quickly discovered that it doesn't work on my toilets. Too easy to pull up the lid and seat and completely rip the lock off the toilet rim - no matter how well attached. At first I thought the product was entirely useless. But I'm happy to report that the problem was easily solved. I bought shelf liner made out of rubber and cut a strip to fit on the rim where I planned to install the lock. I installed the lock over the rubber strip and secured it according to the instructions. Voila! The lock fits snugly on the rim and secures the toilet seat and lid very well. I'm surprised the company doesn't include a rubber fitting with the product, as it certainly works and would probably eliminate any complaints.
Rating : Review of the Mommy's Helper Lid-Lok - Cassie Lee, Jan 28, 2008
This product worked much better than one other toilet lock which uses a suction cup which did not work at all. With this type of toilet lock, it hooks onto the bowl part of the toilet then has an "arm" part that swings up to hold the seat and lid down.
I give a thumbs-up for the following reasons:
1. It is definately effective at keeping the toilet lid down.
2. No tools necessary to install.
3. It's a good product for the price.
4. Has an easy release for adults to open but would be nearly impossible,I think, for babies and toddlers to open.
I give a thumbs-down for the following reasons:
1. The product itself seems "flimsy" and not extremely strong that an older child (like 3 or 4 years old) might be able to break it.
2. When the "arm" part hangs down when lid is open, it might be broken by an older child due to it not seeming very strong.
In my opinion, it is a good product especially for those with babies and toddlers. It does the job of keeping the toilet lid down.
