Product Description

The ISIS iQ DuoTM is the only breast pump with an electronic memory that learns and remembers moms gentle touch. The patented Let-down Massage CushionTM works gently and naturally to stimulate a fast natural milk flow. The powerful ISIS iQ DuoTM motor matches the vacuum of hospital grade pumps and the unique twin tubing carries equal suction to both breasts evenly. Finally, Avent's safe and hygienic design of the closed diaphragm system prevents milk from backing up into the tubing so that milk is protected from contamination and germs at all times. The ISIS iQ DuoTM has no pre-set speeds or suction with infinitely variable control right at the breast. ISIS iQ DuoTM will change the way women view breastfeeding and empower women to feel good about breast pumps, giving them more control, confidence, and convenience.

Editorial Review

Designed for comfortable, discreet, and efficient pumping wherever busy mothers go, the ISIS iQ Duo Twin Electronic Breast Pump features an electronic memory that learns and then automates your own personal pumping rhythm to achieve natural breastfeeding results. The iQ Duo stimulates let-down by means of a massage cushion that flexes while pumping, mimicking the suckling action of baby. During milk expression, a one-button variable control adjusts speed and suction to replicate baby’s deeper, more comfortable sucking rhythm, as the electronic memory learns and continues your unique pumping rhythm.

The ISIS iQ Duo arrives in a stylish, insulated tote bag designed for easy organization. Lower the front panel, and the motor can remain inside the bag for even quieter and more discreet pumping. The set allows single or timesaving simultaneous pumping, and also includes a manual pump for those times when an outlet isn’t readily available. Express directly into the reusable AVENT storage containers (in two four-ounce and two nine-ounce sizes), then simply replace the sealing discs with the included AVENT nipples and you’re ready to feed baby. Other features include two travel covers to keep AVENT nipples sterile when on-the-go, two Thinsulate carriers to keep your breast milk cool, eight flexible, freezable gel packs, two drawstring bags to conceal containers in the refrigerator, disposable breast pads to protect clothing, and a Quick Start DVD to guide new users. As part of the AVENT Natural Feeding System, the set can be used with any AVENT bottle or cup. --Heather Lyndon

Great Product - A. Williams, May 07, 2008

I love this product. The ability to control the suction and speed without having to juggle is great! I did have an issue where the motor stopped producing suction after using it for two months. When I contacted Avent we shipped back the motor and they sent me a brand new unit. In the meantime I used the hand pump, which worked almost as well as the electric, the only downside was that you could only do one side at a time. A suggestion I have is to purchase the microwave steam sterilizer to use with this product. It is affordabe, and very fast and easy to use at home. Also when you are traveling or for work, I suggest purchasing the Medela microwave steam bags. Hope this helps!

Great product - K. Li, Apr 28, 2008

My son is almost 7 months old now. I have been use the pump since he was one month old when I went back to work. I pump it three times a day at work. This pump makes my life so easy. I can provide the best for my baby which is breast milk instead of formula when I go back to work. It only take me five to ten minutes each time I pump. People say they worry about not enough milk supply for the baby when they come back to work. That's not sure. You just have to pump more, the more you pump, the more milk you will have. It's not worth to save money to buy single or manual pump when you have to pump all the time. This pump is perfect. You can also adjust the speed that's right for you. I strongly recommend this pump to all the working mom. Do not give up giving the best for your baby. This pump makes it possible.

Avent Isis IQ Duo Twin Breast Pump - Y. Sklyut, Apr 24, 2008

This breast pump is simply the best! I used a manual one with my first child who was born 8 years ago and now with my second I bought this one. I couldn't be happier! I tried my friend's Medela pump, I felt like I was sucked into the pump, but the milk wasn't coming out. It was just awful, so I went to ToysRus and bought Avent. The softest pump and the best adjustment, Medela is nothing comparing to Avent. I'm using it for 7 months already and I highly recommend this one for everybody!

Excellent pump!! - J. Lauren, Apr 09, 2008

The Avent Isis IQ Duo pump is incredible!! I have been using it for 3 months & I love it! I can pump twice the amount of milk in less time than with my old (PIS Original) pump. It is very comfortable...much more than the old pump. It is also very quiet. I love being able to set the speed & suction levels to my comfort. I was worried that this pump would be too difficult to master. But with a little practice, assembly is quick & easy. I'm so thankful that I found this pump!!

Great pump! - Jennifer Clark, Apr 05, 2008

I purchased the Avent Isis IQ Duo because I loved the manual Isis, and my old Playtex double electric was giving out on me. For the most part, I have not been disappointed. The ability to have total control over the strength of suction and the pace of the cycles is fantastic. The way it works is this - you manually pump a few times at the strength and rhythm you desire, then hit the control button, and the pump continues at that pace/strength. I have twins, one of whom nurses at the breast, and the other is unable to nurse due to a cleft lip and palate. I am able to pump just twice a day - once in the morning and once in the evening - to get more than enough milk for her. I typically get anywhere from 10 to 16 oz per session, sometimes even up to 20 oz. I have enough for my cleft baby and more than enough to put in the freezer - I have 15 gallon-sized bags filled with bags of breastmilk!

If I could change a few things, though, I would. For one thing, my nipples are fairly large, and the flanges could be a bit larger. Additionally, my nipples rub where the soft petal insert on the flange ends, sometimes causing my nipples to become quite sore by the end of the session. Secondly, I would change a bit about the memory. When you start out pumping, you should pump quickly to get a let down. Then once your milk lets down, you should have slower, longer cycles to mimic the way a baby nurses. The Avent lets you do this - but it will only "remember" one pace/strength at a time. So when your milk lets down, you have to hit the control button to stop pumping, then manually pump a few times to set the new rhythm, then hit the control button again. It would be nice if it could remember both rhythms so you could just switch back and forth as needed.

The other thing that is frustrating for me is that I would like to be able to use the 9-oz bottles on the pump, which you CAN do, but at least for me, they make it too awkward to be able to have the flanges in the right position. As it is, with the 4-oz bottles, the bottles are touching the tops of my thighs; with the 9-oz bottles, I have to hold them out to the side. So I end up having to stop pumping, pour out some of the milk into a bigger bottle, then continue pumping.

Finally, because the control button is on the front/top of one of the actual pump assemblies, I can't use my forearm to hold it in place like I could with my old pump, so I can't really read or use the computer or whatever while I'm pumping.

Even with these drawbacks, though, I do love how comfortable the pump is and how much milk I'm able to get!
