Length: Choose a belt long enough to wrap around your waist and overlap past the buckle. For standard tang buckles, look for one that extends at least three inches past the buckle to allow room for adjustment. Sash belts and knotted belts should be at least 12 inches longer than the waist size for a secure knot.
Buckles: Choose a belt with a tang buckle for a secure fit and easy adjustment. Avoid snap buckles because they are brittle and non-adjustable. Consider clip buckles if you are getting a woven or fabric belt for more adjustment options. |
