Laptop backpacks are usually made of nylon padded with thick foam to protect laptops better. Standard backpacks can carry 15-inch laptops and bigger ones can fit 17-inch laptops and larger.
Sporty laptop backpacks are made of durable nylon with fully padded inner compartments. They usually have extra gadget pockets for containing portable CD players, headphone-jack sleeves, and CD folios for storing several compact discs.
Slim laptop backpacks
Slim laptop backpacks are thinner than traditional backpacks and are usually made of padded ballistic nylon. Not all have pockets for other electronic items like cell phones and PDAs, but many have back zipper pockets for storing papers and documents.
XL laptop backpacks
XL laptop backpacks are made to carry 17-inch laptops and larger machines. They are spacious enough to carry other items such as external drives for floppy disks and CDs, laptop cables, extra battery packs, cell phones, and PDAs.
Some extra large backpacks have padded shoulder straps with removable cell phone pockets. Some even have side mesh pockets for containing water bottles and sunglasses.
Straps. Choose a laptop backpack with non-slip shoulders straps. The non-slip pads should be made of rubber with grooves for traction.
Extra pockets. If you tend to carry a lot of laptop and related accessories, choose a laptop backpack with numerous inner and outer pockets for keeping small items like pens, cell phones, PDAs, wallets, and cables organized.
