Kinds of DLT Tapes include the following:

CompacTapes

CompacTapes are made in 0.1 and 0.3 formats. They are available in gray. They are supported by both TK50 and TK70 drives. They are available in two versions: CompacTape 1 and CompacTape 2.

DLTtapes

DLTtapes are made in 2.6, 6, 10, 15, 20, 35, 40, 80, 160, and 800 formats. They are available in white, light brown, and dark brown. They are supported by DLT260, DLT600, DLT2000, DLT2000XT, DLT4000, DLT7000, and DLT8000 drives. They are available in seven versions: DLTtape III, DLTtape IIIXT, DLTtape IV, DLTtape S4, and DLTtape VS1.

SuperDLTtapes

SuperDLTtapes are made in 110, 160, and 300 formats. They are available in dark green and dark blue. They are supported by SDLT220, SDLT320, and SDLT600 drives.

Compatibility: To ensure accuracy and performance, choose DLT tapes compatible with your drive. Incompatible tapes may damage the drive or contents.

Capacity: Choose a DLT tape with the right capacity to suit your needs. Capacities usually range from 20 GB to as much as 800 GB.
