Jewel cases hold CDs and DVDs and protect them from dustm heat, moisture, and other forms of damage. They are usually made of molded polystyrene with an area of 142 mm x 125 mm and a thickness of 10 mm. They consist of a front and back cover, a base, and a middle part that serves as the disc tray. The covers are usually transparent, with two to four tabs on the edges for holding CD/DVD liners or labels. The disc tray has toothed nipples at the center to keep the discs in place.
Single-CD jewel cases are designed to hold one disc and a liner. They are made of clear or colored hard plastic. They are thin enough to fit inside laptop bag pockets and folders.
Multiple-CD jewel cases
Multiple-CD jewel cases are designed to hold two or more CDs. They have dividers for accommodating the two CDs. They are available in clear and colored models.
Tray color: Choose a jewel case with a transparent CD tray if you have back art or a CD sleeve that you want to show.
Removable tray: Choose a jewel case with a removable tray that allows you to insert back cards, letters, advertisements, or artwork to supplement the CD.
