nothing but good things here.
Great bright colors. Works excellent on my dual monitor set up. Had no problems with dead pixels. No missing cables. Hooked right up and was good.

I bought this as an upgrade from a 17" standard LCD (4:3). It's quite a step up. Is it the best 22" LCD wide out there? Nope. But I'll tell you what, it's a heck of a bargain at $244 and free shipping.

Mine arrived double-boxed. The outer (brown shipping) carton was a little dinged up, but the actual monitor carton inside was perfect. UPS guy waited until I opened the outer carton which was kind of cool of him.

Got it set up and running pretty much instantly. Ubuntu linux simply recognized it and reset my desktop resolution correctly. WindowsXP had to be manually changed to the correct resolution, but that's fine. Easy to do.

The monitor was set pretty bright by default so I cranked down the brightness to about 50 percent. Text is crisp, colors are very good and I have not calibrated it yet. I can not find ANY dead or stuck pixels.

Overall I'm extemely pleased with this purchase.

Level of expertise? I'm a technical product support analyst at a university and I deal with computer equipment all day long. This monitor is what I bought for my home computer.

The first one I got had a dead pixel, but I was able to replace it (local store). Have used this for more than 1 year now. Picture and screen is good - no complaints.
But I have 2 other issues and hence the low rating. One is that the monitor on/off/light switch and is on the bottom on the monitor and is not visible to the user! I cannot tell if the screen is blank because windows is in standby or because the monitor is off. The 2nd issue is that the location of the VGA input port is poorly placed. There is not enough space between the monitor and stand, to put your hand through to connect the video cable. Altogether, poor design.

Have had this for about a month. It's big, or seems that way compared with the original (17-inch?) monitor that came with my Dell in 2002. Yet it's a nice space saver, sitting way back on my desk but still easy to see. I don't game or do a lot of razzle-dazzle, so this monitor may by a little much for me. But the price was right, and it's nice to have a big screen that doesn't have to be right in front of your face.
