Rating : Great Mouse Surface...Horrible Metal Finish - bunky, Aug 30, 2009
This is one of the better mouse surfaces I've used, which makes it hard for me to give it such a bad review. On the plus side, it has a nice weight to it, and won't slide around on you. Also, the mousing surface is excellent. On the negative, the finish on the metal parts is awful. After a month of use, the coating on the metal started to rub off where my wrist rests. This was exasperated by customer service that failed to reply to my email.
Rating : just right for a wire rack - Catsie, Aug 27, 2009
I needed a rigid mousepad, not the usual flexible kind, to put on a wire rack. (These wire racks are sometimes called LAN racks or bread racks). This mousepad fits just fine on my wire-rack keyboard shelf, and because it is metal it provides a nice flat surface, unlike common flexible mousepads which sag between the wires in the wire rack.
Rating : Smooth Solid Mouse Pad - Matma, Aug 05, 2009
It's a very smooth, solid mouse pad. It's not going to give you a leg up in video games, but the action is very smooth. It looks good on your desk and isn't going anywhere.
Rating : Not recommended. - Sung Hyon, Jul 28, 2009
I've been using this pad for about 10 months now and I must say I'm very dissappointed.
1) The pad gets sticky VERY easily. I have to clean the pad every 2-3 days because it gets sticky and creates friction.(Not a good thing for gamers)
2) The paint on the metalic part(where my palm touches) started coming off after 2-3 months of usage.
3) The place where paint came off is now collecting rust. Whenever I use the pad for decent amount of time, I'd get rust on my hands.
I'm tossing it out as soon as my new pad arrives.
Rating : Quick movements don't register at all! - A. Machin, Jul 03, 2009
I previously owned another Allsop mousepad that worked pretty well for about a year until it started curling up at the sides. This time I told myself I would buy a sturdy one that couldn't possibly curl or warp. This pad seemed like the best choice. It is indeed heavy and sturdy and I thought it would be exactly what I was looking for...untill I started actually using it. The second that I started using the pad I noticed that something was wrong. To make a long story short, if you plan to move your mouse very slowly at all times you will never have a problem. But if you try to move it quickly, THERE'S BARELY ANY RESPONSE AT ALL!
I couldn't believe it. I mean when I would move the mouse from side to side really fast, the pointer wouldn't move at all. At first I thought the mouse was broken, but then I did the same quick movements on my bed and it worked perfectly as it should, then I actually grabbed the old curly Allsop mouse pad and did the same quick movements and they registered fine on there as well. I'm guessing perhaps the design on this pad keeps it from recognizing quick movements? Well I'm throwing this in the closet and never using it again. I can't believe nobody else has had this problem.
