Among The Very Best Publishing Suites - Mike, May 16, 2009

Rather than rehash the largely positive comments others have made about this suite let me just echo that Publisher Pro 2.0 is nothing short of top notch among publishing apps aimed at non-professional users. As to why the developer has recently chosen to discontinue it I'll never know. My advice... grab a copy while you can. Vista users: Be sure to download the update patch at Nova Development's web site. Simply install the patch after installing the main program. This will make the software fully compatible with 32 and 64 bit Vista.

As an aside, if the idea of discontinued software bothers you, take a look at Serif's "Page Plus X3" which (although a bit more costly) is highly recommended.

WHAT A RIP OFF - Ternece E. Walling, Sep 11, 2008

I ordered this product and was excited at the prospect of receiving what I perceived to be a great value for money DTP program. HOW WRONG COULD I BE?
When it eventually arrived I attempted to install it on my machine. After inserting Disk 1 the program instructed me to insert Disk 2. I inserted the disk labeled Disk 2 only to get the same message "Insert Disk 2. I eventually ran windows explorer only to discover the disk labeled Disk 2 was actually Disk 3. I then attempted to contact their customer support only to get a recorded message informing me of their business hours being 9-6 Mon to Fri. It was 9 pm EST. Not to be beaten I went to their online customer servvice and sent them an email explaing my problem.

On the following Monday I received an email instructing me that they would send a replacement disk and it would take up to TEN Days. I emailed back telling them that was unacceptable as it was their error and they should send it priority mail. They replied saying they would IF I PAID. Of course i refused and waited ten days.

When the replacement disk arrived I once again attempted to install it. Again it failed to work. I contacted their tech support and they sent me a supposed Registry Fix which also didnt work.

The put me back to customer service who eventually told me they had discontinued this product due to problems with disk 2 and they said they would send me an RMA. I am still waiting for it to arrive.

THIS PRODUCT IS A RIP OFF AND UNLESS I GET MY MONEY BACK WITHIN 14 DAYS I WILL SUE THEM AND AMAZON.COM CAVEAT EMPTOR -LET THE BURYER BEWARE

Art Explosion Publisher Pro 2.0

I was unable to install due to a missing file error on CD#2 in July 2008. Nova Development supplied a replacement CD promptly but it had the same error. I phoned technical support who was aware of the problem at the "factory" that makes the CDs. Technical support was unable to give me a time as to when it would be fixed and was unable to provide a downloadable fix. However, I was promptly offered a refund. For a mass market type of product, I thought that this was reasonable service. If I receive my refund cheque OK, I will probably try buying it again as it had good reviews.

WON'T Install on Dell Laptop Running Vista - Texas Gal, Jul 22, 2008

Will not install on my Dell Inspiron E1505 Laptop running Windows Vista. Nova Development gave me a few suggestions, but it would not install. They offered me a refund.

I have used this product in the past and find it has everything that I personally need to produce marketing materials. Someone who is more knowledgable may or may not agree, but I've always gotten compliments from those that I am marketing to. I have since changed jobs and have purchased this item to use at the new company.

My feeling at this point is that Nova Development is seriousely customer service challenged. I needed this product to produce some materials for an upcoming presentation and had ordered it with plenty of time to spare.
I was installing it and had a glitch when at the prompt I inserted disc 2. Upon calling tech support and working through the installation they had informed me that the disc was corrupted and they'd send a replacement. The disc arrived about 10 days later (still in plenty of time for my presentation). Well, this disc gave the same results upon inserting it. I worked through the process again with tech support and they informed me that this disc is also corrupt and they'd send me a new one. I asked that they please test the disc first and they said they would. They did, however, refuse to overnight it as they did not have that decision making capability. I asked to be kicked upstairs to have the conversation with a decision maker. You'd think I'd asked them if they thought the moon were really made of cheese. I could sense the dumbfoundedness through the phoneline.

Now, 2 weeks later I still do not have this disc. I contacted customer service and tech support and they have no record of our conversation concerning the second disc or if it was ever shipped out. I offered to forward them the confimation E-mails that came from them but they did not want me to (???????).

I have since contacted [...] (the original seller). They informed me to deal only with their tech support as the manufacturers tech support features mostly slackjaws reading from manuals. To this I can certainly attest. I am presently awaiting contact from the sellers tech support team. BTW, the presentation went well but, in my opinion, could have been much splashier and professional.
