I think this is a great looking Monitor, with great picture quality. But the integral speakers sound awful.

Never Buy From Hanns-G - M. G. Hall, Apr 15, 2008
I bought a Hanns-G monitor due to a great rebate offer and it was one of the worst purchases I have ever made. The company rescinded on the rebate offer (blaming it on a 3rd party) and would not make any retributions. The store that I bought it from felt responsible and paid the rebate. However, this was after 1 year of multiple emails of being strung along by Hanns-G then later the transferred to another company to deal with the problem. Approximately 4 months later, the monitor went completely dead with the only warning of a few streaks in the monitor about a month before. I just spent 2 weeks dealing unsuccessfully with Hanns-G about returning the monitor since it was still under a 3 year warranty. I called multiple times and emailed even more, with the only response that we will send you the return information via email. I never received an email from either address that I provided (and checked the junk/spam mail) and the customer service rep blamed it on my internet provider, which I know was not the case. In any case, I asked the customer rep and later the supervisor to tell me the info over the phone and they refused, because it would take too long. So I asked them to send via snail mail, they said they did not have an envelope. Hanns-G blamed everyone, but themselves and would not solve the issue. I disposed of the monitor immediately so I would not have to look at it or waste another minute on it.

I have had this monitor for a week now, and I am impressed by the quality for this price. The image is very sharp, color is gorgeous, and zero dead pixels. Just take the time to get the settings right. I have it sitting right next to a Gateway 19", and this one looks 10 times better! I tried a different brand (Sceptre) and was unimpressed. I ultimately took that one back to the store and ordered this one from Amazon, as they had the best price. If you are looking for a good 22" LCD for a budget price, you can't go wrong with this Hanns-G.

Don't buy this if you aren't going to use the speakers - Shar, Mar 10, 2008
I purchased this monitor at Best Buy cause it was on sale and had a 1000:1 contrast ratio. The picture is okay, but I don't use the speakers, didn't even hook up the audio cable. I have the monitor speaker volume turned off (set it to "0") but I still hear a high-pitched buzz/whine noise coming from the monitor. I usually surf with my computer speakers off, so this whine is really annoying, as I think I must have dog hearing. Also, the controls are underneath the front panel, you have to feel for them cause you can't see the buttons, which makes it difficult to adjust. I kept hitting the "off" switch by mistake. I'm debating on whether to take it back or not.

Excellent Monitor - Kay, Feb 13, 2008
Excellent monitors, had a bad experience with buy.com trying to purchase the same monitors --- would not give me any kind of estimated delivery date...since my computer was due to arrive in a few days, I cancelled with buy.com & reordered 2 of these monitors through amazon, arrived before my computer & in perfect condition! Picture quality is wonderful (using 2 with a mac pro) --- be prepared to get the proper cable for the HDMI & be sure you have a good video card, you will be blown away at the amazing image quality at an absolutely fantastic price!!! Looking forward to ordering 2 more in the future!
