Rating : There is another option: Bluetooth technology - miroD, May 18, 2008
I do love this Logitech nano mouse as most reviewers do. As a matter of fact, I, my wife and children have owned many Logitech mice and keyboards on various machines over the years, although presently I'm happy with Kensington keyboard and mouse on my desktop. Recently, however, I had to replace our six years old laptop (450Mhz, sic!). I ordered Logitech nano mouse for it. But I do not use it. It's back in its nice box. For those who consider buying a new laptop, consider Bluetooth technology. It is relatively inexpensive (I got my laptop from DELL.) Adding Bluetooth keyboard AND mouse (using radio signal instead of USB ports) makes so much difference for me. No blocking USB port, no hassle "attaching" the mouse or keyboard, because Bluetooth radio receiver is already installed and hidden under the dashboard of the laptop, permanently. Just unpack your mouse (eventually even a keyboard) at the airport or in a camping trailer, and here you go! You will also have an option to add wirelessly the Bluetooth printer, too. No hassle, no cables, not even occupying the USB port. Just wonder where I was, to "discover" Bluetooth technology this late in my life! (In certain ways, I must admit, my son is smarter than I.)
Rating : Great but not perfect. - Marcin Mazurkiewicz, May 18, 2008
My review is simple. You'll love everything about this mouse; it is everything you want and expect from a nano mouse.
My one gripe, however, is this mouses' poor battery life. It takes two AAA batteries and having used it for two months now, only has about a month, month and a half left.(using duracell batteries for all those with a battery fetish out there)
Battery life is pretty bad when compared to my old Microsoft mouse which used two AA batteries that lasted well over a year.
Batteries are inexpensive but Ive taken the time to write this short review because it should be noted that the battery life is indeed short and a feature some may find important.
Rating : Good mouse, terrible software - Some Guy, May 17, 2008
Good bit of hardware but yet again Logitech's software is lagging behind. The software provided has an issue with finding the mouse on laptops with a built in 'pointing device', surely this means all of them! This product must have been designed with laptops in mind so why isn't the same true of the software? As a result of the dodgy s/w, while the mouse works I can't configure all the features. Going through Logitech's support/registration process seriously tests your will to live so I don't anticipate an easy fix anytime soon. Logitech, stop shooting yourself in the foot by spoiling your otherwise fine products with untested software, I didn't spend $60 on a mouse to do your testing for you.......
Rating : This is one Great, Little Mouse! - Linda Phillips, May 14, 2008
I just got the Nano today to replace a Microsoft Cordless Notebook Mouse that I had for several years. What a difference! Well worth the price IMHO!
Logitech always makes quality products and I have always loved Logitech mice. They always seem to be just right for my needs. This one works like a charm.
I did have to make a call to Tech Support, as some of the directions are confusing. For example the scroll wheel, if set to the default settings, will only scroll from side to side, in a limited number of programs. Outlook Express apparently is one, in which it will only scroll vertically. It worked fine in all directions in Word. I thought it was my settings, but it is simply the programs that you use it in. I only learned that by calling Tech Support.
Otherwise it is delightful to use. So big deal if it doesn't scroll horizontally in all programs.
I have small, arthritic hands, and this is a wonderfully comfortable fit for me. I did try it out first, in Circuit City, prior to ordering it from Amazon. A mouse has to feel right and you must be able to try it first.
I was not terribly impressed with the attitude of the Tech Rep that I spoke with, although at least he was in Arizona and not Bangladesh as most seem to be these days!!!! I am quite computer savvy and told him that any number of times, but he continued to "talk down" to me as though I knew nothing. Oh well! I filled out the questionnaire that they emailed me and did not give him very high marks for "his help", which was not all that "Tech Savvy!!!!". LOL
Rating : Good stuff from Logitech - Tom, May 14, 2008
This is an excellent product from Logitech again. It is very responsive and accurate. Everytime I turned it on, it works right away without any delay. The range is good, too. I mainly use it with my laptop on the dining table and haven't noticed any issues with the range. It is a little too small for my hand, but excellent for my kids and it is designed as a mobile mouse anyway. The on and off switch also works well and the auto shutoff functions perfectly. This is essentially a flawless product. I do however wish that Logitech can add some keyboards at the bottom so I can type some simple text with it as well. Then it will be perfect. Oh, I should also mention the nano receiver, a cute and absolutely wonderful idea. Just plug in and forget and it is truely so.
