To design a more comfortable keyboard, Microsoft conducted extensive ergonomic and usability research. The result is the Microsoft Natural Keyboard Elite. Its split, gently sloped shape encourages a natural hand position-so you can type more comfortably. The Natural Keyboard Elite allows you to place your hands, wrists and forearms in a naturally comfortable position. The built-in palm rest provides a comfortable place for your hands when you're not typing. Microsoft's Natural Keyboard Elite features ergonomic contours that comfortably accommodate not only your fingers, but your whole hands. A built-in palm rest and adjustable keyboard legs help you work in comfort, and two connection options give you the ultimate flexibility: either a round PS/2 port or a rectangular USB port for plug-and-play convenience with the latest PCs. With its improved space-saving design, the new keyboard takes up less room on your desktop and fits easily into keyboard trays. To use the Microsoft Natural Keyboard Elite, you need one of the following operating systems: Microsoft MS-DOS 3.1 or later, Windows NT Workstation or Server 3.51 or later, Windows 3.1 or later, and an available PS/2 or USB port (USB requires Windows 98, 2000, Me, or XP). Rating : Love the ergonomic shape! - J. A. Walker, May 17, 2008
I suffer nerve damage in my hands and arms and this keyboard so far has been the most comfortable I've used.
For the price it's perfect. I only wish it had media keys on it as I was so used to them on my old keyboard.
Anyone with pain from spending hours on a computer will certainly see some benefit and relief using this keyboard.
Rating : MS ergonomic keyboard - A. Aravich, May 16, 2008
takes a while to get used to the shape and key locations. Like the feel of the keys and the way your hands are held. Give it some time ,you will like it and be lost on a standard board. Gave it four stars because I had an internet board before and miss some of those features.
Rating : Ergonomic Keyboard - Richard A. Yehle, Apr 27, 2008
I've used the Microsoft Natural Keyboard for many years. It was good to see that it was still offered when I set up my laptop in my new den and wanted to have a separate keyboard. The ergonomic (natural) keyboard, once you get to used to it - which isn't all that difficult, does help with wrist strain. Highly recommended.
Rating : Ergo at its finest - D. Burt, Apr 15, 2008
I have used Microsoft ergonomic keyboards for several years, especially since I've had family who had carpal tunnel surgery due to the very issue of typing so much on standard keyboards.
I've tried a few other ergos, but the Microsoft Natural Keyboard Elite is by far the best of them. I love this particular one due to the feel of the keys, the ease of pressing them without strain, and the way it keeps my wrists just the way I like them for typing. The only thing I wish they would do to enhance it is to offer it in black. Call me overly coordinated, but it would go with the rest of my Dell setup.
Rating : I liked it so much at home, I convinced my boss to get me one at the office! - Cosmo, Apr 07, 2008
The attractive split keyboard has just the right curve to it. It takes a bit to get used to, but I liked mine at home so much, I convinced my boss that I needed one at work too! Having wrist issues, I understand & appreciate the need for ergonomic products especially in the work place. I do NOT have a pad associated with the keyboard either at home or work & have never felt as though I needed one. The keyboard wrist rest seems sufficient & comfortable. I have not had any trouble (sticky keys, etc) out of either keyboard & highly recommend this keyboard to everyone.
