It's impossible to travel these days without a bag full of electronics, from the cell phone charger, the laptop AC adapter to a Bluetooth plug-in and more. The problem is finding enough outlets in a hotel room to plug in everything. The Monster MP 4 outlet travel power strip is the solution. The cord is short; the plug fits into one of the receptacles, allowing the power strip to fit neatly into your luggage or computer bag. 4 outlets will provide enough plug ins so you'll never be without power.

Bought this for a recent 3 week trip. It was one of the best things I brought - I love the fact the cord is not too long and can wrap around itself to stay compact and tidy while not in use. Highly recommended.

Does it fit your adaptor or converter for foreign electrical outlets ? - David E. Thomas, Nov 01, 2009

I took this device to China but when I went to plug it into my adaptor it would not fit because my adaptor was only good for 2 prong American plugs and this devise had 3 prongs (including ground). A bad surprise. Since I had successfully used my adaptor in Egypt and Israel it never occurred to me to try to connect it to the power strip before I left for China.

I rate it 3 stars because it won't work with many adaptors that people may have already purchased.

Of course the power strips three prongs mnake it a safer device, but if it won't fit your adaptor it is useless in a foreign country.

... glad we picked this up in advance. Never enough outlets in most domestic hotels, and it just gets more problematic when traveling overseas. Pair this Monster up with the necessary voltage converter and plug adapters, and you're good to go.
Pluses: compact size; wraps and plugs into itself for packing; flat plug fits those tight spaces behind the dresser or night table; outlets spaced far enough apart to accomodate wall-wart chargers; blue indicator light on plug tells you the juice is flowing.
Watch out for: right-angled plug may not work in all situations; short cord (12") may leave the strip dangling if the wall outlet's mounted too far from the floor.

I bought this power strip for my study abroad in the UK a month ago. It won't convert voltage, but it works very well when you plug in US plugs that have adapters that allow UK voltages (240V).

My current set up: an international power adapter into the UK plug -> Monster power strip into adapter -> laptop, external hard drives, phone charger, USB charger into power strip. All the electronics that are plugged into the power strip have voltage adapters that can take power input between 100 to 240 V AC.

So far, after a month of use, I have not had any problems. I will post an update to this review only if I do encounter problems in the future.
