But, I didn't realize that it doesn't have a hot sync button on the cord. It is probably best, that is just one more thing to break someday, but I miss the convenience of the button.
It is a good item though.

combo cable works perfectly; charge time is shorter vs manufacturer's provided charge cable. nice to have combo cable-one less cable to clutter work area.

Not working with Treo 650 - Jing Chen, May 13, 2008
It is not working with Treo 650. I compared the metal teeth at the connection end. My original palm version has 5 teeth. But this one only has 4 teeth. It can only charge the unit but not able to synchronize.

I needed a USB cable to power my Treo 700p from a rechargable mobile power pack and this does exactly that. The cable has a firm connection to the phone and is not too long as to get in the way and not too short to use the phone while connected to the power pack. This has extended my phone's useful life to 4 days without a formal recharge.
btw, the power pack is the APC UPB10 and was one of the best decisions ever. It can power anything that can be recharged by a standard USB connection. My Nano can be recharged almost 10 times with it and a video iPod 30gb 4 times. The treo is a pig and can only be recharged once before having to recharge the power pack.
