Plustek 35mm scanner - Robert C. Ewald, May 14, 2008

Easy set up with no glitches. Scans have good quality and reasonable speed. High quality scans are a bit slow, but for a scanner at this price lightning speed cannot be expected. My only significant criticism is the scanning software, that I find somewhat confusing to use and limited in color correction and editing at the pre-scan stage. Still, for the money it's a very good value.

Excellent slide scanner - D. Pond, May 10, 2008

I got my unit quickly from Amazon, and wanted to see if it would meet my needs. I am aa amatuer photographer, but interested in high quality work. There were a few reviews that were negative on this unit and that caused me to be concerned. The price was right so I took a chance. After getting the unit, I had no problem connecting it or getting it started up. The quality of the scans is GREAT, better than I ever would have thought. I am seeing fine detail in slides that I can't even see when projected. Negatives work great also. As for color balance (one of the other complaints someone made) I have not had any problem, the controls allow you to color balance to your preferences, right from the scanner interface. I also use Photoshop, and do fine tuning there. Net of this comment is that is a wonderful, high quality unit, that works very well for me and my wife. We have over 20,000 slides and negatives to scan, from when we were just married 35 years ago till now. So we will be busy for a while... LOL

Worth every penny - M. Caruso, May 02, 2008

This is a really great product. I have thousands of slides from the "old days" of film and don't want to lose the images. I got very tired scanning them with my flat bed scanner.....1 at a time, cropping etc.
This thing is neat. load 4 slides in the tray and scan them very effortlessly. I throw the slides away after they are scanned & when they are all scanned I will sell this thing on EBAY. What a wonderfull country this is!!!

A very good slide scanner - R. L. Kelbaugh, Apr 21, 2008

I bought the Plustek scanner as a tool to finish up transferring 35MM slides to a digital form. I have been very satisfied with the quality of the digital picture output done as a high quality TIF. The process does take a little time for each scan, but the software that comes with the scanner allows you to scan negatives in addition to adjusting color on the slides based on the kind of picture being scanned. It is very flexible and works very well in conjunction with Photoshop 6.0. Learning curve was short for me. I had a basic grasp of what the product could do and how to setup the software to deliver the high qulaity slides I wanted for this project within about three scan cycles. The users guide is a PDF on the software diskette.

Plustek 7200 - Flint, Apr 19, 2008

Easy to use and doing a great job of converting my slide collection to digital. From there I've already completed 2 CD's. This is also a good opportunity for me to review all my slides that I haven't looked at for years. It's much easier to play a CD than haul out the projector, screen etc. Certainly recommend.
