When I was told by the Apple Sales Rep that I would need a new firewire cable(to replace the one I had been using on my G5) to hook up my video camera to my new iMac, I wasn't very happy. Of course, they would have loved it if I had spent the $25 at the Apple store for the cable. After much research, I found this one on Amazon for MUCH cheaper! It may not be the "name brand" but it works perfectly fine. YEA!!!

I dont see why other retailers sell cable like this for more than 20 bucks or even higher. This does what its supposed to do, works great with my MacBook Pro, which i use this cable to capture HDV/DV video. Perfect for its price.

Tough economy...save your moolah and buy this cable.

The cable arrived very quickly, it looks exactly like in the picture, and it works perfectly in transferring DV from my Panasonic camera to my MacBook Pro.

I got this very quickly and on the first day I already put it to use. I've not had any trouble. For the price, I think they are unbeatable. I will say that the 4 pin part that goes into the camera was a little wide at first and almost didn't fit into the female port but I just pressed the metal tip a slight bit and it fit perfectly. After that, no issues. I've already transferred 3 half hour home movies and passed one onto DVD glitch free. So I'm a happy customer. Imagine paying 30 bucks + at staples or some other store... insane.

This was so much cheaper than other brands or finding it at an electronics store. I am very happy with my purchase of this firewire. I use it to transfer videos from my JVC digital video camera to my new MacBook Pro. It does its job well!
