An alarm clock is a device used for waking up a person at an exact given time. It consists of a regular clock (mechanic or digital) and an alarm that goes off at a preset time. The alarm can be made to go off again after a few more minutes or turned off immediately by pressing a switch or a button.
Off button or switch: Choose an alarm clock with the off button located at the back to prevent you from shutting it off easily after it sounds the alarm.
Sound: Choose an alarm clock that gives off a sound as loud as a ringing telephone. Do not get one that is loud enough to damage your ears or disturb the whole neighborhood.
