| Car alarm systems emit high-volume sounds to alert car owners of intruders or possible theft. They usually consist of sensors placed at key points on the car, such as the doors, trunk, and hood. These sensors are wired to a sound system, which is activated when one of the sensors detects suspicious movements. Alarms may be triggered by vibrations, touching, or rough contact. Some car alarm systems are also designed to sense car tilts, which can indicate unauthorized towing. Active Car Alarm Systems Active car alarms are manually activated and deactivated by pressing a transmitter button to turn on the sensors. This has to be repeated every time the car is used. Two-way Car Alarm Systems These systems include two-way radio controllers, one installed in the vehicle and the other carried by the owner. The mobile controller can be used to sound the alarm from a remote location when the stationary controller detects theft.
