Car Monitor : What is it?

carmonitor1

Most car monitors have screens measuring six to 10 inches across. They usually have flat LCD screens, because traditional cathode-ray tube monitors are too bulky to install on dashboards. Car monitors may be powered by batteries, the car's power supply, or both.

Choosing Car Monitors (Buying Tips)

Viewing angles: Choose a car monitor that can be viewed clearly from all angles. Choose standard LCDs over TFT monitors, because TFT screens tend to distort colors when viewed from the sides.

Power supply: Choose a car monitor that can run on both batteries and the car's power supply. This will allow you to reserve the screen batteries for backup in case your car batteries fail.
