Center channel speakers play the primary sound layers in videos and keep sound synchronized with the image. They also separate sounds in multi-channel music to distribute them to other speakers in the system. In a typical speaker system, the center channel speaker plays about 50% of the sound, including the dialogues. They are usually connected to the video source and mounted close to the television to maintain synchrony between sound and image.
