A digital voice recorder is an electronic device that stores audio data for manipulation and playback. It encodes data in a digital storage device such as a CD or a memory card (as opposed to analog recording stored on tape). The digital recording allows the data to be transferred to various media for manipulation, such as in a computer, and allows it to be converted to different formats and played in various media players.
