A jukebox is a music player that can play specially selected songs from self-contained media. It can play a hundred to a thousand songs from different artists and genres. Traditionally, a jukebox was a big, coin-operated machine found in bars, restaurants, diners, and clubs that played vinyl records. Today, it is a digital or a computer-based machine that can still play hundreds of songs. Old, coin-operated jukeboxes, mostly considered as collector's items, can still be found and used in some diners and pubs.
A traditional jukebox is a large machine with colored lights on the sides and in front.
It has numerous buttons with letters and numbers that indicate a specific song from a particular record when combined.
It has a coin slot for activating the machine.
It was traditionally made of wood, but now, it is made and decorated with chrome, bubble tubes, color lights, rotating lights, and other visual gimmicks.
Computerized
A computerized jukebox is a software program that uses a personal computer for storing the songs.
Its interface displays the playlist including the artist's name, genre, title, album, duration, and even the album cover.
It allows the user to make personalized playlists for continuous playing.
Sound quality: For better sound quality, choose a jukebox with a wide reach of high and low frequencies. If you want to get a computerized jukebox, look for one with a good quality sound card.
Design: If you want to buy a jukebox just for its look, choose an aesthetically notable model from the 1940s onwards made by Rock-Ola, Wurlitzer, or Seeburg.
