Guide to Marine Batteries

| Marine batteries are the power supplies used by boats. They contain lead acid. They are made up of several plates, pure lead, and lead oxide containing 65% water electrolyte solution and 35% sulfuric acid. They provide 12 volts of power, which is enough to start and run a motored boat. They are slightly bigger than car batteries, but they function similarly. They serve as backup power supplies when electrical power or the primary battery fails. They can also be used in lightly-loaded small boats with up to two module systems.
