Most MIC mini DV cassette tapes are made with a metal evaporated tape coiled with a protective layer. Most models also have record-prevention tabs that can be slid open to prevent unauthorized or accidental recording.
Recording length: For regular recording, choose a mini DV tape with a recording length of 60 to 90 minutes. A 30-minute mini DV tape offers a short recording time, so you have to switch tapes frequently. For recording long events like weddings and graduation ceremonies, look for a mini DV tape with a recording space of 120 to 270 minutes.
