Rating : Love It! Defiantly Worth It! - Sikandar Porter-Gill, Jul 28, 2008
The Apple iPod Touch is extremely easy to use, and it's sleek and modern look is wonderful!
Pros:
-WiFi, automatically finds and displays networks available, extremely useful on travel. I've used it several times traveling, and it comes in handy!
-Mail, the mail app is extremely easy to setup, and the download of mail is extremely fast. It does not download the entire email if it is to large; however, you can tell it to download the remaining part of the email. Attachments are extremely easy to view, and once again if it is to large it will not download, unless you ask it to.
-The Music and Video on here are WONDERFUL! The video is very detailed and clear (same goes for Internetnet video, and YouTube video). Music seems the same as my 5G iPod. I love the CoverFlow that lets you easily navigate through all your music. It was very tedious to try to figure out which album you were choosing on older editions of iPods.
-Safari, the internet application is very easy to use, and lets you make favorites, just like your computer's explorer.
-Quick reaction time when tilting the iPod (for CoverFlow, games, Safari)
-AppStore is extremely easy to use, and is constantly updated with new apps that are very helpful
-iTunes is also very easy to use, with search, categories, and the most popular songs/albums
-Keyboard is also very easy to use. I prefer to use the keyboard in the horizontal mode, because I find it easier.
-The "Remote" App lets you wirelessly control your iTunes library on your computer, which is very nice if you have a home theatre system.
-The touch screen is extremely easy to use, and is very responsive to your finger...I do wish you could use a stylus, which is a drawback, but I do believe the made one specifically for touches and iPhones.
Cons:
-Sometimes, when email is downloading, and you go on (lets say to another email Account, like I do), the iPod freezes temporarily-but it comes back after a few seconds.
-No built-in radio; however, with the new AppStore there is the Pandora App which is "online-radio" which in a way makes up for it!
-No "hard" volume, or pause button, which is kind of inconvenient, but it is easy to get use to.
I would highly recommend getting a case to protect your little investment!
Hope this helps in your decision!
Rating : OK, Here's my explanation. - Janet Mieses De Nuez, Jul 28, 2008
pros.
-slick
-small
-not to heavy
-nice screen size
-nice little gadgets
but, what's all the fuzz about?
I got two of these, the software upgrade is only to take it from 1.1.4 to 1.1.5, it takes 165mb to download from itunes and 3 min to install, what's the difference? well i actually can say nothing, i ended up jailbreaking , but i got to the conclusion that after you jailbreak it, many problems begin to rise. (IF YOU LOVE YOUR INVESTMENT PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING) (IF YOU LOVE TO HACK AND DESTROY AND CRACK STUFF THIS MIGHT MAKE YOU MAD, BUT BTW, I DONT CARE, I JUST CARE FOR THOSE WHO WOULD LIKE TO JAILBREAK BUT I MAKE THIS REVIEW AS A WARNING FOR THE CONSEQUENCES THAT MIGHT COME TO HAPPEN)
JAILBREAKING CONSEQUENCES
-WI-FI begins to take a more disconnected turn than connected even been close as 1 inch of your router, AND SAYING CONNECTED TO WI-FI. YEAP...
-GET'S SLOWER AND SLOWER.. AND SLO . W .. ER...
-SOME APPS WILL NOT WORK, I REPEAT, SOME APPS WILL NOT WORK, EXAMPLE, CONTACT'S WILL NOT OPEN AND CALCULATOR ALSO.
-BOOT TIME WILL BE MUCH MORE SLOWER
-BATTERY LIFE ONLY 2 HOURS USE TIME (HEARING MUSIC ONLY) . ETC....
SO YOU MIGHT ASK WHY JAILBREAKING? WELL BECAUSE IT'S VERY BORING TO HAVE SUCH AN INCREDIBLE DEVICE IN YOUR HANDS AND YUST HAVE WI-FI TO SURF SAFARI, YOUTUBE,MAIL MOBILE ME APPS DOWNLOADS AND HEAR MUSIC AND WATCH MOVIES, YOU MIGHT SAY, NOPE, OR MAYBE SO WHY YOU BOUGHT IT?, WELL I BOUGHT IT TO MAKE THIS REVIEW ONLY (YEAP). KNOW IM USING THE OTHER ONE THAT I HAVEN'T VIOLATED, YUST AS FACTORY RESET 1.1.4 AND IT'S PRETTY FUN TO HAVE YOUR LEGAL STUFF, MANY WILL SAY YOU CAN YUST MAKE A FACTORY RESET AND BOOM, IT'S ALL OK, NOPE, I TESTED BOTH OF THEM AFTER I MADE THE REST BACK TO 1.1.4 AND IT WAS NOT THE SAME IPOD TOUCH SUCH AS THE OTHER ONE I ALSO PURCHASED.
it'S
-SLOWER
-TOUCH SCREEN TIMING SLOWER TO RECOGNIZE WHAT IM TOUCHING
-AND SOME APPS STILL WILL NOT OPEN CORRECTLY
-WI FI STILL SAYING SERVER CANNOT BE FOUND, BUT AS IM USING THE UNVIOLATED ONE, THE WIFI WORKS IMPRESSIVELY GOOD, EVEN 150 FT OF DISTANCE FROM THE ROUTER, WILE THE OTHER ONE BEING AS CLOSE AS ONE INCH IT WILL NOT WORK AS FACTORY DEFAULT, PEOPLE, PLEASE UNDERSTAND I LOVE THE IPOD TOUCH, AND I LOVE TO MAKE IT JAILBROKEN BUT I DO UNDERSTAND THAT A REVIEW LIKE THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE A LONG TIME AGO.
A THE END I HAD TO PUT THE 2.0 SOFTWARE, IT FIXED MANY PROBLEMS, SPECIALLY WI- FI AND THE CONTACTS. AND LASTLY I DO NOT WORK FOR APPLE, I DONT GET A PAYMENT FOR THIS REVIEW, I ONLY USE UBUNTU AND LINUX SOFTWARE ALL THE TIME AND BOOT TO WINDOWS TO IMPLEMENT MOVIES AND MUSIC TO THE POD.
STAY LEGAL AND YOUR POD WILL BE A GREAT MACHINE, IF YOU LOVE TO SEE THE PODS HACKED YUST LIKE IN YOUTUBE, WITH INTERNET EXPLORER, FIREFOX, MESSENGER , GPS MAPS, AND MANY MORE COOL APPS WITH THE INSTALLER GO AND DO IT, BUT...., YOU'LL SEE THAT WHEN YOU TRY TO FIX SOMETHING THAT WAS ALREADY FIXED, YOULL REMEMBER THIS.
Rating : Awesome gadget - Adam F., Jul 28, 2008
My only complaints are the high price and only ~32GB of storage. I haven't upgraded to the 2.0 software yet, but this is one cool little gadget. The larger screen for watching movies is awesome -- you can now read subtitles and small print in the movies!
If you're able to reload your content often, then a cheaper 16GB model is probably fine. A movie takes up about 1-1.5 GB, so space gets eaten up quickly with these things. Something Apple will probably be improving this Fall with the next iPod updates/upgrades (typically come out before the holiday season).
Rating : WONDERFUL - Mary, Jul 28, 2008
I purchased the 32 GB Apple Ipod for my boyfriend and he absolutely loves it. It works great and the best part is that now he does not have to carry a bag of hundreds of CD's. He is a musician and loves music. It was the best gift he has ever received and the best one I could have purchased. Amazon is Great.
Rating : Nearly perfect - Ronald Kinney, Jul 28, 2008
Apple did a great job with the Touch. Its sleek, light weight, and easy on the eyes. I thought the touch screen and motion sensitive controls would be a novelty but they're anything but.
Pros:
Ease of use: I'd never used any of the Pods before (I'd used Sansa Players before), but after watching a couple of tutoral videos I quickly got the hang of it.
The APP Store: Wow. These apps make the Itouch more than an just an MP3 player, its a mini computer.
The Screen: Is made of a heavy duty glass that is scratch resistant, enough said.
Cons:
I-Tunes: You're pretty much stuck using I-Tunes.
Headphones: Could they have possibly made more uncomfortable ear buds? I also wonder why they made the buds white when the player is black and silver? My advice is to buy something better, Apple needs to redesign these earphones. My Final gripe is that the headphone jack is on the bottom of the player.
The 2.0 update: I spent over $200 on this I-Pod and they want me to pay $10 for a software upgrade? This is the reason I've been reluctant to buy Apple products, they really like to squeeze every dime they can outta you.
The APP Store: They have alot a nice stuff on there, but an awful lot of it is overpriced.
Overall this is a fantastic player, most of the cons are minor. I'm still miffed over being asked to spend $10 for an update, I've never had to pay for one with any of my previous electronics. Apple is making plenty charging for the apps themselves there was no reason to charge so much for the upgrade.
