Athena Technologies WS-60 plasma TV speakers combine a stylish, space-saving, slim-line design with superior bass response. They look great with your TV, plus you can wall-mount them horizontally or vertically, or you can place them on a tabletop with the included base. For superior full-range sound, the WS-60 utilizes a unique multi-transducer arrangement that provides numerous advantages over traditional designs. The multiple woofers provide higher power handling and output levels providing excellent bass response and dynamics, an absolute must in a digital home theater environment. The WS-60 uses Athena Technologies' Teteron 1" tweeter platform, which has continually received critical acclaim for its smooth and accurate response. It's the same tweeter that's used in Athena's most expensive loudspeakers. Hallmarks of this design include high power handling, durability, wide dispersion, and incredible sound quality. The custom crossover network is designed using Athena's anechoic chamber and measurement equipment to precisely direct the right frequencies to the right components. Precisely placed SWFs control standing waves by reducing the amount of reflected sound inside the enclosure, and by reflecting the remaining sounds at path lengths much higher in frequency eliminating bass cancellation and distortion of the midrange. The result is bass response that is cleaner, deeper, and more accurate than you'd expect. SWFs help provide a truly flat frequency response for audiophile quality sound. Chosen for its high-tech look and high strength, the aluminum shell maximizes internal cabinet volume for maximum bass and efficiency. The WS-60 speaker utilizes a unique multi-transducer arrangement that provides numerous advantages over traditional designs. Firstly, the multiple woofers provide higher power handling and output levels providing excellent bass response and dynamics, an absolute must in a digital home theater environment. Secondly, the four passive radiators extend the bass response even lower than what would normally be possible with traditional enclosures whose venting results in more noise than is acceptable in a high resolution home theater system. The included wall mounting bracket serves in both horizontal and vertical alignments, and also serves as a small footprint base. ATHENA WS-60 SPEAKERS - KEN TELLS ALL, May 15, 2008
I have been into hi-fi audio for the last 35 years. You should know that most of those highly priced speakers on the market are unnecessary in order to listen to accurate reproduction of the recorded music people listen to.
The Athena WS-60 is a well made, good sounding front or center speaker. These speakers may be the best sounding on the market at $99 per speaker.
They can be put on a table or wall mounted and look great with the new HD LCD televisions. After a couple of days of breaking them in they sound great. Get yourself a good 10" subwoofer for the low end and you have one of the best sounding systems around for a reasonable cost. Athena also makes the WS-100 which is the floor standing version and a WS-15 for surround sound.
I bought two WS-60 speakers and a set of WS-15 speakers. Went through the Amazon website for security purposes. The seller is Audio Advisor. Arrived in perfect condition and they sound great !

Very good design,you can put it the way you need it.It has a power.The sound range is a little bit limited,but it's worted.

these speakers were tough to find, but they shipped right out to me with no problems and operate as promised. very easy to install.
