Radio Headphone : What is it?

radioheadphone1

Radio headphones, also known as stereophones or audio headsets, are pairs of transducers designed to receive electrical signals from a media player such as the radio, stereo, CD player, or mp3 player, and convert them into audible sound waves to be transmitted to the built-in speakers on each earpiece. They are commonly used for listening to music privately, professional monitoring, and music recording.

Kinds of Radio Headphones include the following:

Earphones

Earphones are the smallest, lightest, and most compact radio headphones available. They are not made with headbands or cuffs; instead, they are designed to fit snugly into the ear canal. They generally offer excellent noise elimination.

Earphones can come with or without foam cushions. Modern earphones feature cushioned speakers and plastic tubes that allow them to be clipped to the ear. They are ideal for on-camera and stage performances where the headphones should be concealed.

Enclosed headphones

Enclosed headphones feature the biggest and bulkiest design for radio headphones. They enclose the ears entirely with padded cuffs. They use headbands to secure them over the head. They can eliminate background noise while maintaining the integrity of the bass frequency. Enclosed headphones are ideal for noisy environments since they offer superior noise reduction.

Open-air headphones

Open-air headphones are usually the default radio headphones that come with most personal audio devices. They feature ear cuffs that loosely fit around the ears without totally enclosing them. They are smaller and lighter than enclosed headphones. They are usually provide more accurate sounds than the enclosed types. Most open-air headphones allow surrounding sounds to be heard even while music is playing. They can come with head- or neckbands. Some models have convertible bands that can be used over the head or around the neck. Some open-air headphones feature water resistance and reflective features, making them ideal for sports use.
