Facial Mask : What is it?
| A facial mask is a deep-cleansing product applied on the face to achieve smoother and clearer skin. It can have a creamy, clay-like, or muddy texture and contains vitamins, minerals, fruit extracts, and other nutrients beneficial to the skin. Facial masks penetrate deep into the pores to reduce or eliminate the impurities on the face. It is usually used only once a week (unlike a daily face cream) as its deep cleansing properties can dry out the skin by absorbing its natural moisture. A typical facial mask is applied after cleaning the face with cleanser and toner. It is left on the face for three to 15 minutes (specified in the package instructions) and rinsed or peeled off to reveal renewed skin. |

Kinds of Facial Masks include the following: |
Clay or mud facial mask
Clay or mud facial mask is applied on the face and left to dry and harden. It is gently removed with tepid water. It lifts off grime, dirt, oil, and dead skin cells from the skin and is ideal for those with oily skin or prone to acne.
Peel-off facial mask
Peel-off facial mask is made from vinyl acetate or polyvinyl alcohol. It is applied on the face as a wet film and allowed to dry. It is peeled from the face once it is completely dried, and it lifts off blackheads, whiteheads, oil, and dead skin cells.
Cream facial mask
Cream facial mask has a lighter formulation compared to the other types of facial masks. It helps moisturize and refresh the skin and also helps promote blood flow and make the skin smooth and firm. It is left on the face for a few minutes and rinsed off with distilled water.

Ingredients: Choose a facial mask with natural ingredients such as honey, strawberries, or oatmeal. Strawberries gently refresh and exfoliate the skin, while honey disinfects and heals minor blemishes. Oatmeal, on the other hand, sloughs off dead skin and contains vitamin E, which is a known antioxidant that protects the skin from environmental toxins. |
