Night Guard : What is it?
| A night guard is an oral accessory made of thin and solid materials worn on the upper teeth to protect the teeth and jaws from the harmful effects of teeth grinding during sleep. It is hard enough to resist wear, but comfortable enough to be worn overnight. It fits according to the mouth size and teeth arrangement of the user.
A night guard prevents the user from grinding or clenching his teeth during sleep. It also relieves jaw pain and prevents the development of other mouth pains. It is required to be worn a few nights each week for a couple of weeks or months to be effective and to eliminate the habit of teeth grinding totally. |
