Refinement types

Fully-refined paraffin wax

• A fully-refined paraffin wax contains less than 1% oil.
• It usually has a translucent, slightly off-white color.
• It remains pliable and soft even under very low temperature.
• It is generally expensive.

• A semi-refined paraffin wax contains approximately 1% to 1.5% oil.
• It does not offer much flexibility.
• It is more affordable than the fully-refined paraffin wax.

• Paraffin wax type 1 is mainly used for converting paper in the food packaging industry.

• Paraffin wax type 2 is used to make candles, shoe polishes, and tarpaulins.

• Paraffin wax type 3 is used to make match boxes.

Oil content: For high quality, choose paraffin wax with less oil content that remains soft even under very low temperature.
