Guide to Perfumes

| Perfumes are used to add a pleasing scent to the body. They are usually made from aromatic oils extracted from plants, animals, and synthetic sources, which are diluted in various carrier oils to soften the scents. Perfume scents are divided into the top note, middle note, and base note. The top note is the initial scent perceived upon application, while the middle and base notes form the main scent of the perfume. Top notes usually have a sharp scent, while middle notes are more mellow. Base notes are strong scents that accent the middle and top notes.
