i liked the product . it did not hurt much.the only thing i didnt like personally is the noise when i switch on the machine. neverthless, it works just fine. i too read a number of reviews before i bought the product. as mentioned elsewhere, i think with frequent use, the pain subsides

I can't say that I love the Braun 5270 Silk-epil X'elle, but I do like it enough to keep using it. First of all, I don't know who claims that you can use it as infrequently as every four weeks. I have been using the 5270 for a month now, and I have to shave my legs at least once a week and my armpits every two to three days. In addition, it definitely takes me longer to epilate than it ever did to shave, so I'm not sure that there is any time savings. That said, the hair is definitely finer, less noticeable, and sparser, and I can only hope that things will continue this way until I hardly have any hair left at all.... My other complaint is that, no matter how much I epilate, my legs never feel completely smooth -- I suspect that I'm feeling hair that I've previously epilated that is too short for the tweezers to grab, but it is annoying. So, why am I keeping at it? I like the fact that, even as the hair is growing back, you really can't see it. There is no appearance of stubble or "five o'clock shadow" (for lack of a better term) on my armpits as the hair is growing back. Also, you can't beat either the cost or the ability to epilate at home on your own schedule. A final word on the pain factor -- it never hurt on my legs and, after the first time on my underarms (which was downright excruciating and actually drew blood), it doesn't really hurt on my armpits, either. I think it still would hurt on my armpits but for the fact that I am now contending with significantly less hair so there's not as much chance for the pain to accumulate. I have not yet braved my bikini area and am planning to follow another reviewer's suggestion to get a wax first and epilate thereafter. Overall, although I don't love this epilator, it beats shaving in appearance and waxing in cost, so I will probably keep using it.

I thought about getting a waxing kit before summer comes around and I thought how was I going to battle summer with my hair problem. I hate to shave because I get these ugly black dot on my legs. It's a smooth shave but i could still see the hair under my skin. And I hate the fact the I have to shave the next day. I own a machine similar to this one. I got it over 10yrs ago. I do do the occasional waxing, but it is too messy. So after reading all these postitive reviews about it, what the heck. I'm sure I'll be spending that money on getting my legs and underarms wax.

I got this machine and can I say that is thing is awesome. I read the little instruction manual and I gave it a try. It is now of new favorite thing along with summer. If you have never wax before I can say it can hurt. You are plucking your hair out from the root. But it is not unbearable. You just have to get use to it. The best part of this thing is the little LED light. No matter how bright the room is, sometime it is still hard to see. But because of this light you don't have to worry about missing a spot. You do have to glide the tip over your skin SLOW, otherwise you just have to repeat that area again.

I already told one of my friend about this product and she can't wait till she gets hers. Get this machine, it is the best thing since self-tanner for the summer.

I really don't have any complaints other than the fact that it's loud & the hair needs to be cleaned out often. Otherwise, it's quick, not very painful, & does a good job!
