Rating : Well made product that works well - Robby, May 15, 2008
The power from the nozzle and the amount of water the device can hold is more than adequate to clean your teeth. I never bought a portable Water Pik so I can't make any comparisons. The only thing to add about the purchase was how Amazon dealt with an abnormally slow free shipping of this. They sent it out next day air!
Rating : Don't buy this! - A. Alicea, May 05, 2008
In short, it's a toy... with a water stream that's weak. It was a great disappointment.
Rating : has high & low points - E. Raie, May 02, 2008
Pros: quite portable when in closed position, good water pressure, comfortable jet nozzle, fast pulsations, easy to grip, not too noisy.
Cons: only 40 seconds or less of water per tankful, granted, this is a portable device, but not enough for a full mouth cleaning (will have to refill 1 or 2 times); battery life is mediocre (manual says 20 minutes, but I find that pressure diminishes after 15 minutes of run time); cannot use any fluoride rinse liquids with this - only water is allowed.
To correct some other review regarding the run time - the 20 minutes it reports is for battery life, not water capacity. Water capacity is 165mL (approx. 40 seconds worth with new batteries) as per the manual.
It doesn't come close to the larger counter-top devices in practicality, but for something to throw in a suitcase, it fits the bill.
Rating : not powerful enough - Madeline Mortel, Apr 27, 2008
I use water pik at home. and I love it! I can't live with out it. but I travel a lot! so, I bought this portable Panasonic EW120 because it has great reviews. But when I used it for the first time, I was disappointed because the water comes out a lot weaker than my water pik at home. but I will use it until it dies on me.
Rating : Great product in its class - N. Kusuma, Apr 20, 2008
Based on the cost and the limitation associated with a portable device (battery powered), this product performs very well. The water pressure is not as strong as my full size waterpik, but I can carry it along anywhere and also use it at work.
Some time, I have to refill the water to get the job done, but that is OK because I prefer to keep the size as is. If there is any complaint I have to make is the water pressure, but I prefer to have this way rather than having higher pressure, but has to add power adapter or bigger/heavier design.
I think the AA size battery is excellent choice of design compared to irreplaceable rechargeable battery. I cannot say much with the durability yet since I have not reached 4 months of usage yet - otherwise it is fine.
