A paraffin wax is a by-product of the petroleum refinement process that consists of normal alkanes. It is commonly used to make utility candles. It can be soft or rigid depending on its oil content. A melted paraffin wax is used in body massages and therapies where the hands or the feet are dipped into it to rejuvenate and moisturize them.
