Steam Room : What is it?
| A steam room is an enclosed place that traps in steam or mist when steam bathing. It is usually enclosed with panels made of glass, acrylic, fiberglass, and ceramic as opposed to a sauna, which is commonly made of wood. A steam room can be a standalone unit or a custom-made room installed in a residential or commercial area. It can be designed to accommodate one or several persons at a time. It requires an external steam generator and controller to provide steam.
A steam room is used to induce sweating and create an “artificial fever” that elevates the body’s temperature and speeds up blood flow and metabolism. Steam stimulates the muscles and allows them to release stored toxins. It also helps detoxify the immune, endocrine, and cardiovascular systems.
