Guide to Ice Machines

Ice Machine : What is it?

IceMachines1

An ice machine is used to make large quantities of ice.  It is widely used for commercial purposes in food service industries, bars, restaurants, hotels, hospitals, and groceries among countless others.  The ice machine mainly consists of a water supply, a refrigeration system, and a collection bin; it uses a pump to pour water in a refrigerated tray.  While the water freezes, a heating coil helps loosen the ice from the tray so that they can be easily harvested into a collection bin. The ice machine usually has an automatic holding switch to prevent the machine from making more ice than what the collection bin can hold.  Portable ice machines are also available for home use and for outdoor events and occasions. They can be also used for commercial purposes when selling chilled drinks or coolers in a kiosk.

Choosing Ice Machines (Buying Tips)

Space-savers: Look for an ice maker that is designed to fit under counters to save space and allow easy access. You can also consider getting modular ice makers that sit side by side or stack up on each other.

Sanitation: Look for an ice maker that has self-cleaning mechanisms and removable air filters that help prevent the formation of bacteria.
