Full steel construction makes this unit sturdy and resistant to damage and everyday wear and tear. Extendable side panels allow the fan to be mounted securely either inside or outside the window trim. The Air King 9166D is electrically reversible, so you can choose to sweep cool air in or exhaust hot, stale air out of your living space. The storm guard feature allows you to close the window behind the fan when you leave home or during harsh weather. *Please note: The 9166 fan fits in windows 27" to 38" (W) x 26 1/4" (H)

I should say first that this fan does get loud on high. The reason I bought it was just for normal ventilation and it works great. I also used it while rehabbing my bathroom (I took it down to the studs, lots of dust) to keep dust down and it was fantastic. A great buy.

I haven't owned a metal fan in my entire life - just the plastic box fans. This fan does what it says it does and it's made in the USA!

Well worth the investment. This is not a quiet/silent fan - but it does move the air.

I'm also pleased to see the all metal construction, this fan is built to last. (plastic blades will flex and your cfm will drop.) Yea, it's noisy at full speed but I've got some light weather stripping that'll be perfect to significantly reduce the vibrations. We'll mostly run it at low speed anyway which still moves 2510 CFM. In contrast, we recently purchased TWO $8.00 twin plastic window fans from a local big box on closeout, [ regular price ~$20.00+, very much like, the Holmes HAWF2030 ] and those things are not worth spit!! The Air King will just about suck the cat through the door from across the room! I'm confident that my Air King was well worth the money.

THE FAN IS JUST WHAT I WANTED, COOLS THE WHOLE HOUSE , CHEAPER TO RUN,NOISE LEVEL IS LOW.
I'M PROUD OF THIS FAN, HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO FIND ONE LIKE I WANTED UNTIL I SAW THIS ONE
