Holmes, Twin 9" White, Window Fan, 3 Speed Setting, Electrically Reversible For Intake, Exhaust Or Air Exchange, Comfort Control Thermostat. This double window fan can draw in fresh, cool air from the outside or exhaust stale, hot air from inside. Or, because of the independent draw-in and exhaust-out settings, it can do both simultaneously. With a thermostat that turns the fan on and off according to a preset temperature level, plus three speeds for each fan, the unit adjusts nicely to conditions. Designed to fit double-hung, vertical, and casement windows, the fan comes with a built-in 7-inch extender and two separate 3-inch extenders, letting you custom fit it in windows from 24 to 37 inches wide. And because the unit is lightweight plastic, you can move it easily from room to room. The fans have six blades and measure 8-1/2 inches in diameter. Overall, the unit is 12-1/4 inches high, arrives fully assembled, and carries a three-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack Average Rating of 4.00 out of 7 reviews
Rating : Well made window fan. - C. Scalfani, Feb 23, 2007
I've had this fan now for over two years and use it in the summer to keep my home office cool. It is fairly quiet and moves a lot of air either into or out of the room. The build quality is good using quality plastic and tasteful styling.
At first, I found no way to easily clean the unit of dust at the end of the season. Disassembly seemed a bit complicated for the task of cleaning. So I just give it a good spraying with "Simple Green" cleaner on the back deck and hose it off after 30 seconds with a light spray from the garden hose. I let it dry well on the deck, then store it for the winter. Good product at a good price.

Rating : Holmes 2041 vs Honeywell HW628 window fan - Mark R, Aug 02, 2005
I recently compared the Holmes and Honeywell (Kaz) twin window fans side by side. Both were reasonably quiet, electronically reversible, and were similarly priced (Lowes and Target, respectively). The Holmes fan is more attractively designed but the Honeywell had 2 to 3 times the blowing strength as the Holmes. Also, the Honeywell fan (but not the Holmes fan) has angled louvers which can be turned to direct the flow from each fan in a different direction. I don't know which fan is built more to last, but based on the airflow, I purchased the Honeywell.
Rating : Holmes HAWF-2041 Twin Window Fan - R. Ashkinadze, Oct 03, 2001
It does what I want it to - intake and exhaust. I like the sleep feature as well. It looks good and doesn't take up very much space.
