Amazon.com Review

Strikingly modern with a stainless-steel interior and front on a black cabinet, this multi-use unit functions not only as a microwave oven, but also as a browner and toasting oven with its 1000-watt top quartz grill. The microwave features 900 watts of power and a spacious .8-cubic-foot interior that holds a 12-3/8-inch glass turntable--perfect for dinner-sized plates. Two combination microwave/grill-cooking keys allow for cooking food throughout while browning the outside. The unit can be set to microwave at 30 percent while grilling at 70 percent, as well as microwaving at 55 percent while grilling at 45 percent. Touch-pad keys offer five power-level options and nine automatic menu functions, while an easy-to-read digital display and a 60-minute digital rotary timer provide further convenience. A metal wire grilling rack is included. The three-in-one appliance measures 20 by 13-13/16 by 17-1/2 inches and carries a one-year limited warranty on parts and labor. --Catie Unger

Nice looking small microwave at a good price - J. Landman, Apr 06, 2008

I purchased mainly because I liked the looks of this microwave and it was a really good price. I also like the toast feature, although I've actually not even used it yet. I've been pleased so far, but I would warn anyone purchasing to check the back when it arrives. Mine had a large dent and I had to return it. Amazon was very accomodating, sending a new unit even before my return was processed. That was great, and the new one is fine. I'm not sure if the dent occurred in shipping -- could have -- although the box didn't really show any signs. It was a little odd. Alls is fine, however, with my new unit.

Lasted only one month - Lake Luver, Nov 15, 2007

Oh well. I wasn't very pleased with it anyway. It was slower in microwaving than my old one, and the toasting feature took forever. Mine lasted one month, I touched the door handle and opened the door, the power went out on it AND it tripped my breaker. I reset the breaker, but the microwave had no power... just dead.

I would have had to drive an hour each way to an authorized service location, leave it, and drive an hour each way another day to pick it up. So for what I was going to spend to get it "fixed for free under the warranty", I could just buy a new microwave... which I did. This one goes in the trash.

Only lasted one year! - S. Robertson, Oct 13, 2007

Beware -- just as other reviewers experienced, my oven suddenly and irrevokably stopped working, and just outside of its one year warranty. Consider not buying this, because it's possible Sanyo is using defective materials. I went to a local electronics store, and after I described the problem, they said it was likely due to a malfunctioning magnatron and could not be fixed. I agree with the other reviews: it's pretty, it's a good microwave while it actually works, and it doesn't toast well. But the cheap price isn't worth it because I have to replace it after only one year.

Will not buy anything other than new - Sylvia M. Cantu, Sep 13, 2007

This 'used' product proved to be defective and was returned for refund on Friday, August 31. Still waiting for input on status of my refund.

I like the combination cooking feature - James T. Hammond, Sep 11, 2007

Very attractive oven as Microwaves are presented. I have owned several over the years and this Sanyo is by far the most attractive. Operation is very easy to manage and extremely functional. Some may criticise it as being a bit slow, but as any good cook knows the slower the process, the more savory the outcome. I have found this to be true particularly with egg recipes. This product is much superior to others I have owned in the past.
