| Chrysoprase is a chalcedony variety that contains small amounts of nickel. Normally green in color, its shade varies from apple to deep green. It is a cryptocrystalline, which means it is composed of fine crystals that cannot be distinctly seen as particles even under normal magnification.
Chrysoprase is one of the most valuable varieties of quartz due to its scarcity and pleasing green color. A high quality chrysoprase is usually mistake for fine jade. |
