Eternity Ring : What is it?
| Also called “dress” wedding rings, eternity rings consist of continuous loops of precious stones (commonly diamonds) set in a precious metal band. The stones are lined in such a way that the band appears to be a circle of gemstones. Eternity rings are usually given as a gift, as a symbol of unending love. They are popular gifts for significant occasions in a married couple's relationship, such as monumental wedding anniversaries (20 years or more), celebrating a child's birth, or overcoming great obstacles. Diamonds are the most popular choice for eternity rings, but precious stones such as sapphires, rubies, emeralds, and tanzanite are also an option. These stones are usually paired with diamonds to create an alternating pattern around the ring. Couples can also use their own birthstones, birthstones of their loved ones and children, or other symbolic gems to make the ring more significant and unique.
