Nose Ring : What is it?
| Nose rings are pierced through the either the nostril, septum, or bridge of the nose. The metal portions that pass through the nose cartilage are thin, while the visible portions are thicker to allow gemstones and other designs to be embedded on them. Nose rings accentuate the face along with earrings, eyebrow rings, lip rings, and necklaces. |

Kinds of Nose Rings include the following: |
Nostril rings These types of nose rings are pierced through the left, right, or both nostrils. They were first used in India by both men and women to show superiority and courage. Nostril rings are available in different sizes, thicknesses, and designs. Nasal septum rings These types of nose rings are pierced through the nasal septum or the nose cartilage that separates the nostrils. They are not as popular as nostril rings because the process of nasal septum piercing is painful. Wearing them is usually uncomfortable. They make sneezing and blowing of the nose difficult. Bridge rings These types of nose rings are pierced through the bridge of the nose, the area between the eyes. They require surface piercing, as they only penetrate through a small flap. They are also not very popular because the nose bridge is a very sensitive area. |
