Watch Band : What is it?
| Watch bands are used to strap watch dials onto one's wrist. They usually come in two pieces, one attached to each end of the dial, and are fitted with buckles or clasps to hold them in place. Each band has a looped end that fit into the lugs on the dial. Watches are normally supplied with bands, but it is also possible to buy spare bands for variety or to replace damaged bands. |

Clasp: Choose a watch band with a tang-buckle clasp for soft bands, and an outside-style deployant clasp for metal bands. Inside-style clasps are more elegant, but they may not fit with all watches and usually require special straps.
Materials: Choose a watch band made of durable and non-allergenic materials. Look for rustproof and impact-resistant metal bracelets and make sure the links are tightly connected. For soft straps, make sure they are water-resistant and will not shrink when exposed to moisture.
